A ticker is a name, not a location. USDT is issued on Ethereum, Tron, Solana and BNB Smart Chain simultaneously, and those balances are unrelated to each other. Sending Tron USDT to an Ethereum address is not a slow transfer — it is a transfer to an address that does not exist on the chain you used.
Your wallet usually tells you which network you are on somewhere near the balance. Address shapes help too: Tron addresses start with T, Ethereum and BSC addresses start with 0x and are interchangeable in format but not in practice, and Solana addresses are base58 strings with no prefix.
The deposit instruction in the widget always states the network. Treat that label as part of the address: copying the address without matching the network is the single most common way funds go missing in a swap, and no provider can reverse it.
If you are unsure, send a small test amount first. On low-fee chains this costs cents and removes the entire class of mistake.
